| ☆ Canon characters (includes silent/customizable protagonists and minor characters) ☆ AU characters (includes player-made and previous game/CRAUs) ☆ Official/canon AUs (canon alternate timelines, book vs movie/anime vs manga versions of a canon, etc) ☆ Original characters (from both original and fandom settings) CRAU/previous RP history characters must have actually been played in their source game by the apping player. Up to three versions of a single character are allowed in the game at once, but each must come from a different source - for example, a canon version and an AU version. Cosmographia does not currently have any limits on what kind of characters, in terms of canon content, can be apped, but we ask that players keep appropriateness for the setting and tone of the game in mind when choosing potential characters. Apping a character that is hellbent on murder or explicitly sexual behavior, and completely unable to adapt, would not be suitable and apps will be judged appropriately. | |
| HOW TO APPLY | |
| Fill in the form below and submit it in a comment to this post to apply. Applications are always open, and are processed weekly. Be sure to check the character you want to app is not already in the game. There is a reserve system in place if you intend to app a character. If there are duplicate applications for the same character received in a no-reserve situation, both applications will be reviewed and the stronger app will be accepted. A challenge question or sample prompt may be sent to the appers if both applications are strong. If you wish for the mods to hold your app, just email the mod account. This means you won't be accepted until you're ready. If you want to withdraw your app, please also just contact the mod account—however, if you withdraw your application you will not be able to submit another until next round. If you are rejected and need to submit a redo, you will receive a comment informing you as much accompanied with a brief explanation. If you are accepted, you will receive a reply to your comment with a summary of comms to join, basic admin stuff to sort, and how to get started. All comments are screened! Apps are processed weekly on Fridays and Saturdays, until Saturday 5pm PST - any apps submitted after that time will need to wait another week. Player: Name: Tell us your name! You can also list what pronouns you'd like us to use here. Contact Details: How do we get hold of you? List your preferred methods of contact here -- Twitter, tumblr, plurk, AIM -- whatever you use! Other Characters?: If you have any other characters here at Cosmographia, who are they? And if you plan on playing two or more characters from the same canon, how will you handle this? Character Character Name: What's their name? If they have any important nicknames or aliases, note them here as well. Canon: What canon do they come from? If your character is an OC or an AU, please note here -- if you're apping someone from a CRAU, list their previous game(s) as well. Canon Point: When in your characters canon do you play this from? Episode, chapter...? Type: Canon character, OC or an AU? Age: How many birthdays have they had? If your character has any discrepancies about their age (age accelerated clone, time travel, believing themselves to be older or younger than they are), note both ages here. History/Key Points: Tell us your character's history -- what made them the person they are today? For characters with shorter canons, or canons with less lore, you may give us the 'key points' of their history, with a minimum of five bullet points. For a formally written history, try to aim for about 300 words minimum. Personality: Tell us about your character! Let us know them as well as you do. Aim for around 300 words minimum -- there's no formal wordcap, but try to be as concise as you can! (CR)AU Information If your character comes from an AU, fill out this section. Otherwise, delete it. AU Personality Changes: Whatever changes to your characters personality you make for this AU, please note them here! AU History Changes: Note whatever changes you make to the character's history here. Other AU Changes: What other changes occur in this canon? Gem: What Gem have you picked out for your character, and why? Is there any special reason you picked this Gem in particular for them? Power Considerations: List three powers you would like your character to have in Cosmographia, and one will be picked for you once your application is accepted. Make sure to go into detail about how your character's power would work and what effects it would have. Do note that having one power over the other doesn't stop you from being able to pick them up once you're in the game, so don't worry about losing out! Extra: Is there anything else we need to know, that we didn't mention above? Note it here! | You can always reapply a character you've dropped! To do this, just comment like you were apping them all over again, but with the below form. How the arrive is dependent on how they dropped - either they found their way back after being lost, have finally recuperated, or simply got dragged through a hole again.
