Power Requests

After events, players may use their event participation to either gain a new power, an upgrade to a pre-existing power or a small item from home. To get either of these things, players most post a comment to this page using the form below, specifying what they want. A mod will either approve it, or work with the player to make the power work if there are any problems with it.

You can also use participation from two separate events to retcon a power you already have but no longer want (for whatever reason). Please use the following form for power retcons.

While a small item only requires one event, bigger items will require more. Please consult the mods about bigger items and we will tell you how much you will need to save.

Request: Upgrading Feline Physiology in time for the Hunter's Moon. Thought he was partially stealthy before? Well, this upgrade makes him a stealth artist short of actually just blending into shadows, and no longer will laser pointers be a viable method to lure him out. However, like any other cat, he'll have a bad habit of hunting... and maybe leaving his prizes as gifts for people. Even more destructive cat go...

Event Link: [September Bodyswap]: Here's her talking to Tiger's Eye about what happened.
Request: Mystery Globes: Water Spheres -- As the name implies, this effect transforms her Mystery Globes into literal balls of water. While they retain their circular shape well enough, the faintly lilac-tinted liquid offers little resistance to anyone else's touch, to the point where somebody could place their fingers or hands inside. (Why they would want to is their own business.) The water ranges from chilly to frigid; Velvet may be able to influence the temperature to a limited degree, but she can't take it beyond that scope. (In other words, she can't turn this water into ice, despite having an 'Ice Sphere' form for her Mystery Globes already. She can't make this liquid cool enough to freeze.)

Objects that are small and light enough could be placed inside and suspended within these spheres; however, keeping them there requires a certain amount of concentration, and for the object to be fully submerged. The heavier/larger the object, the harder it would be to keep it encased; it would keep trying to sink and break through the bottom. If this happens, it could completely disrupt and splatter the orb.

Functionally, these act like water balloons, just... without balloons. Upon hitting a target, they explode upon contact, scattering cold liquid about. Which is potentially quite unpleasant, but there's nothing particularly arcane or mystical about the liquid itself. It acts just as you'd expect water to act.

Character: Ichigo
Event Link: [September Bodyswap]: Here's her fighting Hawk's Eye alongside Rin and Naoto, and the exploration that follows.
Request: Fairy Flower Lights -- A technical upgrade for her Pyrokinesis skills, this allows her to create tiny, floating flowers out of fire, with a brightly glowing center surrounded by wispy 'petals'. The flowers resemble cherry blossoms, with five petals clustered around the glowing heart. (The effect I'm going for would be something like this, this, or this, only all made out of fiery energy rather than looking crystalline.)

This is more of a utility spell than an attack. These flowers are each about the size of a regular cherry blossom, and their primary purpose is lighting. Each one's core emits a soft but steady glow. After summoning them, Ichigo can direct them about as they float in midair, using them to help better illuminate whatever she sends them towards.

When dismissed, they flicker and burst out of existence. These can't do anything more than perhaps some minor superficial surface damage at most; sure, it might sting a bit if, say, it was resting against bare skin, but even then it's unlikely to burn. (If she wanted to turn this into an attack spell, I'd have to spend another power request on an upgrade.) Again, this is more of a support skill -- a cluster of flying mini-lights that can help out when exploring.

Event Link: September Event - Fighting with Ichigo and Rin
Request: Upgrading Plant Manipulation. This gives her a little more conscious control over her plants so they're not always responding to emotion and gives her better control over growing flowers and manipulating vines/roots. She has a little more bend to trees, and may sprout saplings. Still, if she loses control of her emotions, the plants can go wild.

Request: NEW POWER OH BOY

Masumi gains the ability to SET HERSELF ON FIRE. Think Human Torch here.

CON: really hurts, it kind of counts as an instant injury-to-scream point. (Now her scream isn't quite so useless!)
PRO: She could probably charge someone and set them on fire. HUZZAH. Also, aforementioned INJURY TO SCREAM deal. But! More importantly...

The burns from this attack heal relatively quick, with the trade off being that she can only set herself on fire once each hour, can only BE on fire for about 3 minutes, and lastly, cannot use it more than 5 times in a 24 hour period...Period. Otherwise she'd probably be in wayyyyy too much residual pain to move-the burns are healing after all, but the ~~nerves~~ gem remembers! AND IT HATES IT, STOP DOING THAT.

Request: Ice Generation. Malachite is able to form various simple structures of ice, such as spears, ice barriers and even frosty armor and most things between. These objects are immobile and have no moving parts. She is currently incapable of doing this without significant amounts of water already present, such as ponds, lakes, garden hoses, large buckets and so on. Moisture in the air currently does not count unless it is pouring rain.

Request: Continuing the trend of Wretched Raid Raptors References (say that ten times fast), Masumi gets Specified Shapeshifting! What does that mean?

Well it's kinda like what Bismuth does as a blacksmith...except instead of hammers and such, it's her arms becoming this thing's wings.

Can she fly with them? HAH no. But! They're pretty good for use as a shield, and are PRETTY SHARP so she'd probably do some decent smacking around with them if she wanted...not to mention channeling the fire through them if that's not stretching things too far (that would probably hurt though. A lot. Tsk tsk.). If channeling the fire power into them is too far over the power limit though then hey, nothing wrong with sticking to sharp things on one's arms.

Event Link: [Infestation Investigation]: Here's her meeting Natalie, and this is her, Yang and Chat Noir figuring out a plan of attack against the Angler Whale.
Request: Jewelry Creation: Basic Bracelets -- This upgrades Velvet's Jewelry Creation ability, expanding her range so that she can now craft bracelet-sized pieces by solidifying her own magic. As with her currently existing stage ('Plastic Novelty Rings'), anything she creates this way undeniably looks like plastic, aside from a lack of molding seams. The more effort she puts into their manifestation, the better they can look; inevitably, however, they still look and feel like plastic trinkets. Any rhinestones or other fake gems are obviously fake; any metallic sheen is clearly not actual metal.

Event Link: [Infestation Investigation]: Helped clear out Violet's boat with Naomi over here.
Request: Flame Petal Shield: Single -- Allows Ichigo to summon a shield which manifests in the form of several 'petals' of flame unfolding around her, as if standing in the center of an unfolding bud. However, at this basic level, Ichigo cannot sustain more than a single petal. So while it first manifests with five petals unfolding around her, the other four fade out quickly, leaving her with only one. (Being able to maintain more petals will come with future upgrades.)

In addition, while she can move it around herself or leave it behind as a free-standing wall, it's significantly stronger if she stays with it and is actively trying to sustain it. So while she could raise it and leave it for somebody else to use as cover, without her right there to keep it up, it can't stand up to much punishment and will flicker out after taking one or two good hits. (Depending mainly on how well-centered and hard that first good hit is.)

Keeping it close to her/with her and concentrating makes it more durable; even then, however, it still obviously depends on her own endurance/having the energy required to sustain it.

Request: "Aura" - I'd like to give Yang the defensive capabilities of her Aura back as she already has expedited healing naturally as a Gem.

It'll work more or less exactly the same as it does in canon where it will passively shield her from physical damage until "broken" (or if she's knocked unconscious).

To start her off, I'm not sure if I'm able to give her the Aura mastery she had at her canon point where she could take multiple strikes from bullets, blades, or explosives, dealt by your average mook or someone with a similar level of training as she, or if I should start her off with a set number of something like the ability to withstand 5 attacks before it breaks (fewer if they're from especially strong opponents or monsters) with the option to upgrade later on down the line.

Also this may not particularly matter but since Aura is tied to the soul and she's technically a rock, I suppose it's basically just enhanced Gem resilience (since the Crystal Gems can take some impressive damage without poofing sometimes) but manifesting in a way she's familiar with? I wasn't sure how much I needed to bend this ability to suit the SU canon. XD

To start with, Yang will be able to tank five solid blows before her Aura shatters. Once broken, it will take a minimum of 24 hours for her Aura to be replenished.
