Power Requests

After events, players may use their event participation to either gain a new power, an upgrade to a pre-existing power or a small item from home. To get either of these things, players most post a comment to this page using the form below, specifying what they want. A mod will either approve it, or work with the player to make the power work if there are any problems with it.

You can also use participation from two separate events to retcon a power you already have but no longer want (for whatever reason). Please use the following form for power retcons.

Request: Okay so Marla has an Ampharos that got left behind when she was taken here. She's not going to particularly care about her Pokemon being depowered, since she was never a serious battler in the first place and just wants their company.

Request: Basic "unicorn magic"... which will be limited at the moment to essentially just a form of telekinesis with a glowy energy aura. The ability can be strengthened in minor ways through practice, but she won't be able to do any superhuman feats without "leveling up" the ability in the future. It's basically just a way for her to manipulate objects while in a form without hands, like her Equestrian unicorn body. We'll say the upper limit of what she can do with regular practice eventually is about what an average adult human in reasonably good shape can lift and move easily. Pretty impressive for her own small size, but nothing to really write home about. Can not stack with her physical strength in any way, it's either one or the other.

Request: Ichigo previously gained Weapon Summoning: Folding Fans through the July Event; however, that's now considered a default ability. I guess her size-shifting might also count as shape-shifting, but eh. For her retcon, I'd like to give her an upgrade to said fans: Flaming Fans, aka the ability to set them on/convert them to magical flames, same as the flames she creates through her Pyrokinesis.

Request: Solid Light Trails/Ribbons -- When flying, Ichigo tends to leave trails of color in her wake. Activating this power allows her to convert these into actual ribbons of light. These ribbons do not harm whatever touches them; this is more of a defensive ability which could primarily be used akin to a length of rope, or cord. She can only keep up to a certain length 'solidified' at any given time -- the longer it is, the harder it is for her to keep stable. That goes double for if she's attempting to use it to bind anything, such as trying to hold a target down. The shorter and thicker the length of ribbon she's working with and the less the target's struggling, the easier time she's going to have maintaining it.

Unfortunately, Ichigo is not eligible for the free retcon. The retcon was an option for players who would otherwise be left with very few powers (one or two) because of the new defaults. According to Ichigo's powerlist, even if we were to count size-shifting as shape shifting she would still have five other powers, therefore she can only get one new power this holiday.

The rest are all approved though! If you would like to switch the Trails/Ribbons for the weapon upgrade, please let us know.

Request: New power, the ability to transport himself through shadows he can already manipulate. As a thought for first level, he's only able to do it in sufficiently darkened areas, and if he gets caught partway through a shadow when it's destroyed (like, via sunlight or other power) then he's spat back out where he came from with an injury (which'll fall under typical gem regeneration jurisdiction).

Request: Power - Thermotherapy: With concentration, Yang can channel a healing heat into her hands. She can soothe general aches or pains away, somewhat like a hot stone massage, and mend minor to moderate injuries, albeit with the unfortunate side-effect of essentially cauterizing them (whether or not those scars fade later due to natural gem healing can be up to the player). She can use this power on herself (so long as her hands can reach the affected area) or on others. She can heal more serious wounds only when in bright sunlight due to her Solar Affinity power. It will take her awhile to realize she has this power and some time afterwards to get any sort of control over it as it is not a power she is familiar with having.

New Power: Alchemization - standard adapt-powers-from-canon option except in this case 'canon' is the canon her previous game was based off. This power will allow her to 'alchemize' two or more items (Possibly by shoving them into her gem???) which results in the creation of a new item with either qualities of both, or qualities of X and appearance of Y.

Now the canon version doesn't use up the original items, but it can in Cosmo if that is a limit that should be imposed for the purpose of this not doubling as an item duplication ability. I'll also accept any other limits needed!

New Power I WANNA GIVE HER Music-based minor time manipulation powers that basically impose rhythm game mechanics on her fights: basically, if (and only if) SONiKA has music going (whether singing or from her speakers or random christmas music in the square), attacks from either her or her opponent must land in time with the rhythm/beat/what have you of the music; otherwise, they'll freeze in place long enough to be easily dodged and/or simply not do any damage, whichever seems best (I like the idea of brief freezes in time as punishment for not "keeping time" but if that's too OP then no damage works)

Request: new power: Mental Communication Link. Just like Rise and Fuuka in Persona, Kanami can mentally broadcast her voice to other people to communicate with them. She can also include other people in this... like a group skype call (and she's skype).

Limitations: this only has the range of the area of the town and temple (i.e. she can't contact anyone who's left town for instance) and she can only include up to three other people in the conversation at once. She has to know the person before she can contact them, and they have to given her "mental consent" (i.e. if they don't like her or want to talk, she can't establish a link at all). Eventually can be upgraded to increase range or include more people.

Also, a question for weapons (since Reira gets that as a Freebie now); would a weapon similarly reliant on a copying ability be acceptable? (In this case it would obviously still only be able to mirror to base functions of whatever device it copies, but I thought I should ask before going ahead with that.)

Request: Question first, actually; could I make this claim alongside a future event claim instead? I thought of being a bit of a jerk and giving Gongenzaka some of Yuuya's pets from home, but with names like 'En & Core', it feels wrong to give one now and the other later... (The pets in question are a very normal corgi and fat cat) ...and of course, since one pet counts as a claim in itself, it would be unfair to try for two on one claim.

If I can't ask for those two at any time regardless though, I'll just go with an upgrade to his shield that allows him to better control how much of the absorbed energy is released (and when).

Hello! We are terribly sorry for the delay, we needed to discuss these a bit further before answering and with everything going on we were not as quick to respond as we should have been and we apologize for that.

Masumi's power is approved! She will have a limit of 5 projections at one time to start until upgraded later.

Reira's is also approved! As for the weapon question, considering the nature of his abilities that would also be acceptable! We ask that the copied weapon also be a little weaker than the original but otherwise all good!

For Gongenzaka though we are going to have to reject the pet claim. Not because of the future claim but because they're Yuuya's pets and not his. Unfortunately you can't regain another character's pets.

The shield upgrade is approved though!
